December 30th- Leadership Field Trip

Today was the day that we have been planning for, the leadership field trip. The year 2011 seemed really fast and in two days 2012 is here, starting fresh. We have field trips because we value them. It's a great way to spend quality time with eachother. The agenda of the day was to go to the movies, alamoana and watch the fireworks. Today was Fun and a moment to capture for the rest of my life. Today is the last Friday of the year and we should all enjoy it to the fullest. Leadership had to meet at boys and girls club before 12. I arrived there around 11:45. When I was in the car heading there I was excited to see each and everyone of them, i missed all of them so much that today was the day to hang out and chill with them. When it stricked 12 we aboarded the school bus. We were missing a few leadership friends but I can't wait to see them when we get back to school. When we arrived at ward center we picked put the movie we were going to watch. We all ha different ideas and movies to watch, but some of the times didn't fit into our schedule. When we decided what our movie will be, it was alvin and the chipmunks ship wrecked. When we got out movie tickets we went straight to our movie theater. We sat in the middle section of the seats which was a good spot. When the lights were dimming I was so excited to see how this movie goes, I just love watching movies and saying with good company it's a great combination. When the movie started I was fastened into my seat and was ready to roll. The movie was WONDERFUL. It was hilarious, entertaining, and plain out amazing. One of the main characters in this movie, was in the other movie we watched last time, spy kids. She was the girl that was in the island for many of years. I watched all the chipmunk movies and I love all of them. The chipmunk were so cute! I just enjoy watching them. When the movie finished we waited outside because there was a situation, and we were down to one less leadership friend. The next destination we went to was alamoana we all had our free time. We arrived there at 4 something and was supposed to be meeting at the cinnamon place at 7. We were all in our groups and atleast had a partner with eachother. Me and my group went all over alamoana. It was so fun and adventurous! I bought things from jeans wear house, bath and body works, claire's and more. I enjoyed today because you should enjoy everyday like it's your last. It was so great to see my leadership family I missed them a lot. The next destination we went to was magic island. We watched the fireworks. The fireworks were beautiful. it had such amazing colors and designs and I'm glad I gt to see it with leadership. It was such an awesome and fun day, I would like to do something like this again. It was an magnificent experience a good way to end the last Friday on 2011!

2nd Quarter.

Today is the last day for second quarter, second quarter was a undescribable quarter. We had many interesting moments and memories in this quarter. For 8th graders, sadly we only have 2 qauarters left of school, but mainly 2 quarters left of leadership. It's scary to see time fly so fast like this. 2011 seemed like a fast year, and to look at it we all learned so much things during these pass two quarters. When I realize time is going by very fast; Just  remember live everyday to the fullest. Second quarter was a quarter were leadership all got closer together and is passing every obstacle in the paths together. This quarter leaderhsip had bumps on the road, but not all the days were depressing, there were days were everything is fine, and good. This quarter we added new jobs. For TV we still go on tv, but we also make playlist for lunch in the cafeteria. For music we play for the morning and wiki now. For afterschool sales, we work in the lounge in the morning and wiki and do sales afterschool. And, for ID's we do the same during morning and wiki. We also had moments were everything seemed wrong... but when we went through a process of the days passing by and improving we had a chance to overcome them and make a change. But there was also moments that I will always treasure through out my life. Wolf gang, rapping, singing, being kronik and just having fun with the people around us. Talking stories, laughs, spit flying through the air. There are MANY positive things throughout this quarter that truly impacted me. Today turned out to be a good day. I like having good days because we should enjoy everyday being happy because everyone deserves to at least smile. I ended second quarter very enjoyable which now is another memory that will live with me. My goal is to make third quarter as awesome as it can be! Winter break let's go. (:  

Winter Fair

Winter fair was very fun this year. We never got to walk around, but it was worth it because we are raising up money for our spring field trip. We work hard now, it will pay off in the future. Leadership had new things this year. We had pizza, icecream and juice just like last year. But, we got a new booth. It was dart game. Me and Rhea was parthners and assigned for the dart games. Me and Rhea was familiar with this job because we did it during welcome dance. When winter fair first started there was a long line and a lot of people crowding the table, sticking out the money in our faces. I loved working in that booth! How to play this game is to pop the balloons on the board with the darts and every balloon has a prize inside of it. You can win simple prizes like cookies, chips, icecream, drinks, pop tarts. But there was also awesome prizes like two big bears that I wanted and Jansports. We gave out all the jansports and bears and simple prizes because everyone is a winner. It was very busy at our booths, there was never a time no one was at that booth not playing, which is a good thing. It was pretty funny... the darts were all breaking, they throw pretty hard. When Rhea lest for her performance she left me to do the booth alone. It was funny watching people enjoy playing that game. Balloons were flying everywhere also darts were flying. Prizes was everywhere. Money was sticking out all over the place, everybody wanting to play so badly. It was a good energy around us. Our booth went smoothly and I enjoyed working the whole winter fair. When winter fair ended, we all cleaned up like it never even happened. Winter fair ended 2011's school year. I enjoyed my last winter fair in Ilima Intermediate, and I will always remember these memories made today.

Secret Santa

Today was the day all of our secret santa's have been revealed. This was one of the most funnest activity of the year! It has been such a wonderful experience to do, i'm glad we got to do secret santa this year, it was so enjoyable to do. When we picked names I was so nervous and excited to see who I would get, we couldn't do facial expression and we had to keep it a secret for the past weeks. The person name I picked was heighlee. It was interesting to read what all of us wanted for christmas and I was so excited for this day to come, and look the day came today. We picked names from a box to see who would go first, next, after... when someones name would be called they would have to go get their present and give it to the person they picked. And, the person had to open the gift right infront of us. We were gathered in the 4 desks together, and I liked it that way because we are all facing eachother in that position, and I love sitting by good company. First was Jacob, then so went on. I thought I was going to be called last, but when i heard my name get called I got up, walked around and gave it to...  Heighlee. Heighledd wanted the justin bieber CD, and something hello kitty. I got her a Hello kitty poster, and a justin bieber cd. I was so happy to see her facial expression when she opened her present, I was sooooo Happy she loved it! Chrsitmas is such a beautiful time to spend with the people you love and care about. It was a great and blessed feeling♥ When Melani got called I thought she had someone by me. But when I saw her walking toward me I was coming more nervous and excited who she was giving it to. Then I saw a shadow above my head. The gift was for me. When I opened it, I was wondering what is in there. When I opened it, she got me exactly what I wanted. She got me feather earings, nail polish, a necklace with my name on it. When I said thank you and she sat back down, I ran up to her, and hugged her. I was so thankful. When the activity was done, I can see from everyone's face and attitude that they were happy with what they got, and loved everything. Everything had good vibes. You just had to be there to experience everything! There was so much things that happened, and It's to beautiful you just had to be there. These types of memorys are the one's that will last a life time.

Picnic

Today was our picnic, which took place in A101 during advisory and lunch. When I first walked in the room the tables were together like a gathering. I was happy to see mostly all the leadership family in the room. We first started the picnic with some small conversations and started settling in. I like where I was seated, I was put between people I don't really know as much and I got to spend more time with them. This was the first time I experienced a picnic with leadership, and I loved it. I love spending time with each of them, and I want to get to know all of them more. After we started settling in, we started a line to get our food. I would like to thank Mr.Ing for the food he had bought us, I really aprreciate all the things he has done for us. There was variety of foods, rice, noodles, mac salad, meat, meatballs, chicken katsu. And, the snacks we brought in which we are saving for tomorrow. I brought brownies, I saw cookies, candy, sweets and all these delicious treats. When we all grabbed our foods and drinks, we ate together as a family. We went back for seconds, we talked about stories, we talked about things we experienced, we talked about all types of things. The food was yummy! and the everything had good vibes. I wish everyone was there to experience this amazing memory. We all got along during the picnic, and everything was great. I will treasure this moment. We all had many laughs, jokes and stories. In the future I would like to do something like this again, can't wait for us to see eachother again and make good days happen, Seeing leadership tomorrow and making more memories.   

Drive Safe For Ewa

Yesterday leadership helped with sign waving, drive safe for ewa. We sign waved in front of Boys and Girls club. We were dressed in our yellow shirts, long pants and shoes. We had to come school early, i came to school before 7AM. Maybe around 6 fifty something. We had all these different signs, some said "Don't drink and Drive" "Drive with Aloha" and some were in different colors. It was a great experience to do, we are helping our community be a better place. These sign help prevent car accidents, and help our community be safe. We started displaying the signs around 7 and ended around 7:50AM. It was a beautiful and friendly morning. We did nothing to cause distractions on the road, because we wanted the drivers to have a safe destination. But we still got some honks. And saw some friends on the road. What i like about this experience is we are having fun while helping our community become safe, also every honk, wave, smile we get made an impact on me. I was in a really good mood that morning, i smiled and waved. I showed my sign with pride. I'm glad we got to help sign wave. It felt really good knowing i'm doing something good for other people. I hope later on in the year, we will do more activity's dealing with helping people and doing good deeds. This was a fun experience to do.  

ISA Bowling.

ISA Bowling was today, and it was so fun to do! We got picked up around 8 something, and shared the bus with Waipahu. It was a fun ride there, and back to school. When we got there, my group was with Rhea, Shaela, Tamera, Chachie and Myself, which was the 8th grade girls group. The first round i did okay, maybe around 40 something points i got. Then, the second round i did really great! I got 60 something points, and was the highest out of my group. It was a great feeling. Around the second round we got hungry, so we bought food, and went back and forth eating, then bowling. We had 3 rounds to do. The third round i did okay again. What i ate there was nachos and a drink. haha, my shoe size was 3. Today was a awesome way to end the week, thank god it's friday. The third round i got 30-40 something points. We challenged 3 different schools, and it was an amazing experience to try. I went last year ISA bowling, and this year was pretty fun also, with different people. It's good to try new things, you know. Bowling was very fun to do, Mr.ing taught us some things to try, like what positions, and going closer to the ground, it really helped. GUTTER. We all at least got gutter, it was funny. We were all supported of each other. Even though we got gutter we would scream for each other, dance with each other, high five! grab the BOWLING BALLS together inside joke* Today was a great memory to remember for the rest of my life. I'm glad Leadership went all together♥, we are a team. By tomorrow this will be history. I'm glad i spent my day with them, (:
We finished around 12? 11? and dropped off waipahu first, it was cool riding with them again on the bus.
This ride back to school, was the best. we shared laughs, smiles, stories and new memories together. We also had vomit... ohmy. It was pretty funny. I rode with tamera, to the bowling place and back home it was fun. when we got to school it was 1 something, i would never forget this adventerous day. Hope you all had a fantabolous week, and and have a wonderful weekend.  

Talent Show.

Talent show is where people can show and display their talents. Talent show started yesterday, and it has been delightful watching the different performances. Yesterday we had a mix of performances dancing and singing, today it was the same, we have people singing and dancing. My group danced today, we all had different feelings going on. When i went on the stage i was nervous and excited. But, i was mostly excited. My group danced to a mix, which had the songs "Super Human", "I like that", "Moves like jagger" and "super bass". So far all the performances had been fantastic! Ilima's got talent, was fun to do... now we know Ilima does have talent. Tomorrow I will be the speaker, Yesterday I got a job to record the Talent show performances. It was a cool experience to try, because i never did that before. So far the people who went on for talent show, did an amazing job. They all had the guts to go up there and show their talents. Our preformance group was called JMSHJ it stands for all our first names, (jolene, megan, shayna, heighlee, joshua). This year's talent show has been very interesting to watch, what i liked about this experience was we got to show our talents to do school, also i like how we got to perform for both lunches for 8th grade lunch it was nervous first, but after i did the first song, i got use to it. And, i was use to the 7th grade lunch crowd since me and my group danced already. I'm ready to see more beautiful talents tomorrow.

Video Essay.

The Video Essay was a cool experience to try. We had to make a video for our powerpoint on our hero. What i did was, i did my video on a camera, i did a few takes and it turned out to be good. In the video essay it should show feelings, how i felt while recording is thankful to have a sister like mines, i felt honored and great. When i started talking about the reasons why she's my hero i felt really happy that i can rely on someone, and i can always count on them. That's what a hero is, you admire that person no matter what they do or say's, they help you regardless of the risks involved. What i liked about this experience is we got to share our feelings in a new way, we did feelings on our blogs, powerpoints,and  now videos. In the video essay we got to practice our speaking skills, and working more with technology. It's cool how we get to all share our hero's and introduce them to the class, your introducing the person who inspires, motivates, and the person who infleunces you. In my video essay i said my sister helped me be who i am today. I grow up with my sister my whole life, and she is 3 years older than me. She has more experience than me, I also said i don't know what i would do without her, this part also made me feel great inside, knowing i have many blessings, and one of them is to have a older sister, she always is here for me through thick and thin and i know she will stay by my side no matter what. We have our downing parts but, together we have the super powers to overcome them. In my video essay i also said i have met no one like my sister, and she is one of a kind and unique. My video lasted for 2mins and 35seconds. Before i started filming, i wrote what i was going to say on a paper, and i remember it by using highlights. In my opinion i think my video essay technique went smoothly. This video essay assignment was interesting to do, i remember one time, i was filming and i spaced out. But, it's okay because practice makes perfect. And, since i took different films, it turned out to be great. I'm looking foward to showing the class my powerpoint and video i worked on so far. The next assignment we have is the oral part of the hero assignment. I'm also looking foward to do this part because it's also different, your speaking oral in front of the whole class. But is similair to the other assignments. The video essay was great experience to do, and it would be cool to do something like this again. I'm excited for the next part of the hero assignment.   

Hero Powerpoint.

2nd Quarter unit: My Hero.
The first step we did for this Hero assignment, was to make a blog entry about who is our hero, and why. Characteristics that hero's have, and what type of characteristics our hero has. The next step we are doing is the Hero presentation/powerpoint, and the hero presentation blog which i am doing right now. The hero presentation/powerpoint was a fun experience to do. It also worked with the 6 GLO's. This step deals with technology. The first slide of the powerpoint is the title, which has "My Hero", and my hero's name, and who is it by, me. The second slide is backround information on my hero, who my hero is. The third and fourth slide is why she is my hero, it gives reasons and details that support it. The fifth slide isn't due yet, but it is the Video Essay, and the last slide is the summary/conclusion. The background i picked for my hero presentation is Flowers. I picked this background for my powerpoint because flowers grow, and my sister helps me to grow, imrove, and be the best i can be. And, when flowers are fully grown they bloom and blossom. My sister wants the best for me, and what's me to grow and blossom into a beautiful person, inside and out, just like a flower. But, i also picked that background because it reminds me of my sister, because  she is a bright person. I enjoyed doing this presentation because we got to my a visual representation on who is our hero. My hero is my sister Janine Grace, she is my hero because i look up to her as a role model. Also because, she is always there for me, when i need help or anything else, i can rely on her. One reason why my sister is my hero because she is there for me no matter what. She helps me through any type of problem, if it's school work or any other typical problem she is always there to guide me through it. My sister is not superman, but she has the powers of being a big sister. She does her job of being a big sister, spending quality time with me, and sacrificing her time for me, she even sacrafices her time for me even though she's busy. She is a true hero to me, but not only that she is my big sister. What i liked about doing this powerpoint was I like the topic, "My hero". We got to talk about the person who inspires and who we admire. I also liked how the powerpoint shows a visual representation on who our hero is. I am intrested in doing the next step for the hero assignment. The next step is doing a video essay. Something i'm looking foward to is sharing this with the class, and seeing who is their hero. A hero is someone you  that you look up to and is always there for you to help you when you need it.  No matter what they say or do to you, you still admire them. A hero is a person who in the opinion of others has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model.

My Hero.

There are many definition of the word "Hero". One definition of hero is someone that you look up to and is always there for you to help you when you need it.  No matter what they say or do to you, you still admire them. A hero is a person who in the opinion of others has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model.

        This is my older sister, Janine Grace. She is 3 years older than me, and she has been here for me my whole life, when i was still taking baby steps. My sister is my hero because she is always here for me through thick and thin, and she understands me. She is always here for me no matter what happens in life. I look up to her, and admire her for everyhting she does, she is my role model. She helps me when i need it. Whether it's school work or any other typical problem she guides me throught it. Sometimes, she asks me if i need help even though i don't ask her. Throughout my life my sister has been there for me since day one. What my sister has done for me is, lots of things. One example is, she does her job of being a big sister. She protects me, and just wants the best for me. If I were to tell my sister what she means to me, I would say that she's my inspiration. Although she has no super powers like superman she has the strength to inspire me in many ways which makes her one of a kind, HERO. She inspires me to achieve my goals, and she inspires me to follow my dreams. She's always supporting me to do my best. My sister isn't like any other sister in the world, she's MY sister. I grew up with her, and I couldn't ask for any other sister as perfect as her. We have our up's and down's like any other siblings have, but we always will love eachother. She is my role model, and hero because she can turn my bad days, into good days with out even trying. Right there, she has the super power to inspire me and to make everyday a better day, she motivates me everyday, and cares for me and just wants me to succeed in life.

        

Characteristics that I believe all of  most heros share is Strength, Courage, Helpful, Inspiring, Loyalty, Dedication, Bravery, Motivation, Honesty, Fairness, Confidience, Uniqueness. There are so many traits to describe a hero, that you just have to look up to a hero, and feel it. Every hero has an amazing quality, which is to "rescue" people. They help people who need it, but sometimes they help people without them even asking, they are brave and they are dedicated. They would do anything to help that person. They would help anyone who is in danger, and put there own safety at risk to save a person. A hero is someone you can look up to, someone you admire, someone that you would like to be in the future and your role model.

Which chararestics my hero shares is mostly all of them, My sister is very Helpful, Inspiring, Loyal, she is Brave, Honest, she has confidience and is unique. My sister made an impact on me, which makes me admire her and look up to her, and most of all i know i can count on her. My sister is my hero because in the future i want to follow her footsteps, and be the person like she is now. My sister is loving and caring and wants the best for me everyday. She is someone that will be stand by me through thick and thin. She is a hero to me.

Secret Santa. ^____^

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :) Christmas is almost here, and i'm so excited. ^----^ yaaaay!
 This year leadership is doing an activity called Secret santa, first we did a drawing, and we had to pick a card which had someone's name on it, and we buy them a present from looking at there blog and seeing what  they would want this year for christmas. The limit is $20.00, and were not allowed to tell anyone because it's a SECRET. The day we give our presents will be on December 14, and i'm so excited.
sooo... This is some thing's i want for christmas, to make it easier here's a list.  I like clothes from FOREVER21, i like floral clothes, or any type of clothes there. My size is small, well it depends but it's usually small. I like to shop at charlotte russe, jeans wear house. I was looking for a jumper in one of these stores. I also like accessories, earings, Feather earings, from claires, icing.  I like sandals, like the kinds i wear to school. I like to do my nails, shadder nail polish, or the nail polish with a skinny brush. I like stuff from Sanrio like maybe a hello kitty lanyard. Well, that's somethings that came to my mind, it's okay if you don't get these. But, these are the things i would like to have for christmas. Can't wait for December 14. ^___^       

Inter School Athletics, ISA.

11-4-11, Friday. On friday we had Inter school athletics, it's when all different schools come and play either basketball, or girls softball and compete with other schools. Some schools we had were Our school, Ilima,  Ewa Makai, Kapolei, Waianae, Nanakuli, Pearl Highlands, Waipahu, Etc. When i first came to school on that day, the first thing we did was set everything up like the tables for basketball, the scorer, the water coolers, and much more. At 8:50-9AM some of the schools had been coming to Ilima already. When all the schools were here already They stretched and did all the things they had to do before the games all started. My job was on the softball field making sure no one would step on the certain parts of the field. I liked the weather on that day, it was windy, and not hot, but warm. No one really stepped on my side, and it went smoothly, i enjoyed my job. I got to watch the softball games and it was fun to see other teams come here and play. Something i would change differently if we got to experience this again, is i would change my job. I liked my job, though i wanted to try something new. Like going on the basketball court and scoring the basketball players shots. I remember last year my job was the water cooler with my other friends when we were 7th graders. In the future i hope to do more activities like this. It was amazing. I think everyone did a good job, and it was a good day.

Soccer Intramurals

Soccer Intramurals was an amazing expirience to do. It was the first time i did soccer for intramurals and it was fun. What i liked about soccer intramurals was leadership got active with it, also it was a fun activity/sport to do. Also, everyone got a chance to play, for example flag football not eveyone plays, but for soccer everyone participated in the classes. Leadership also got to practice introuducing ourselves infront of teachers that we don't really know, and that was a cool thing to try. We got to practice our speaking, greeting skills and much more. What i dislike was nothing, soccer intramurals was a fun thing to do, and expirience. I liked how after all the classes were done we would kick the soccer ball in a circle, or on friday when we actually played a game against eachother, that's was funny and is one of the memories i would always remember about 2011-2012 leadership. I wish we got the chance to do this when i was 7th grade, soccer was something i enjoyed doing. And i hope when the 7th graders turn 8th grade they get to expirience it again. Something i would change about soccer intramurals is, maybe make it a little longer, since we only did it for 4 days but i'm fine with that. Also, play a real game team vs. another team, that would be pretty cool. I'm excited for the other intramurals this year, soccer was a great expirence to do, overall. Field Trip 10-6-11

10-6-11 is a day that is unforgettable. It was 2011-2012 leadership field trip. It was so fun and an amazing experience. I will never forget the things we did, and laughed about.

It was on a thursday, i was getting ready at 6:00Am since i already packed my things yesterday night. It was cold and exciting. By 6:50 i was done getting ready and everything, ate a little breakfast, in my yellow shirt, skinny jeans, and my belt and vans. etc. I had my polka dot black and pink bag on me. Waiting for Shayna to pick me up she came at about 6:53. Then, we went to her house and she went to change into something else because she forgot her yellow shirt, that was pretty funny... Lucky i told her. Then on our way to Mcdonalds we came there about right before 7:00. And we waited for the white van to come which mr.ing is driving which Joshua and Rhea was inside already. Another thing that was pretty fun was Shanice, shayna's dad had a white van, she was running to us because she thought that was the van. LOL. That already made my day. Then walking to the Mcdonalds door i could see all of us in yellow. I was so happy and proud to be spending time with my leadership fam ('; But, not everyone in leadership was there. But i know it's okay will always spend time with them. When we were in the van and everything was set we were going to alamoana beach! ^--^ The ride was fun! we talked a lot, sang, punched each other (inside joke) Pac-Man! hahaha. We made so much memories. Don't forget the tickling part. You just had to be there. When we arrived we did so much things! we got there at about maybe 8 something and came home at about 5 something. fun fun fun. oh, and don't forget us turning in our phones, all our phones had to be given to m.ing so we wouldn't play with it or deal with it. Now that's what you call quality time. It was amazing just to hangout with my buddies! And not deal with our phones. I think that was a pretty good thing to do.  The first thing we did was take pictures for our portrait thing and the yearbook. Yaaay! It took about 15mins-ish. Then when we arrived we went to a table and put all the things in the car and transfer it to the table. We set up the tent, had all these food and snacks on the table, camera's taking picture, laughing, jokes. etc. We ate breakfast first which was egg. portages sausage, juice/water, and of course rice, after we were all ready to swim everything digested we went in the water and started swimming! Nothing could let my mood go down that time. It was just a good day that you just  had to be there. Then after swimming and all the stuff we did, we ate lunch. Lunch was funny also, it was about 12 something and mr.ing started to cook us food also he had some assistants. haha, for lunch we had hot dog xD, steak, and rice again! that was delicious! don't forget our drinks. Then after this break we was eating snacks, then me and tamera went by the tree to swing on the ropes hanging from the tree. and then we took more pictures yeah, i know. It's because were cool. haha, any way after we were all done eating we were under the tree me, heighlee, joshua, anne, etc. we went back swimming! >:D and yeaaaaaah. that was fun. then after that time was going by pretty fast. Had only like 20mins left to swim. Then, time was up. We all changed to dry clothes and all ready to leave. We went to put all the things back in the van. and we got in and on the way to Mcdonalds again. that ride was fun again but less energy because we were all mostly sleepy x). 

Then when we arrived to Mcdonalds we dropped the people off and ended with a good day... the 8th graders all had rides home from Mr.ing and we got home. AND THE DAY STARTED GOOD, ENDED AMAZING.

Quarter One♥

   Quarter one has been FANTASTIC. I remember the first day of school walking into the campus, having a new prinicple, having new students, a new leadership class, new periods, new things happening and seeing. etc. It was much different from last year. Time went by so fast! I'm an 8th grader already. It feels like just yesterday i stepped into Ilima's campus being a 7th grader. Quarter one is just the beggining to the school year, Quarter one is very unforgettable, there are so many memories and moments that happened in this quarter, They're were happy, sad, LAME-O's, learning expiriences, fun, moments. and MUCH MUCH MORE. This quarter is the beginning were i met the new 7th graders leadership/The new 8th grade leadership. (: It was such an amazing expirience. The 7th grade leadership/overall 7th graders, & 8th graders remind me of us 4 returners. Me, Shayna, Rhea, & Joshua.
   I'm glad i returned (,; First quarter is an unforgettable quarter. Let's start talking about the new periods, classes, teachers, new skills, and more.
Well, this year is different from last year i don't really have my leadership friends in my class ;p Lol. but it's all goooood! because at the end of the day, before the day, the breaks i will get to see them♥ this year's leadership class is one of a kind. We all got closer and closer everytime a day passes by. Also, not only the students, also our  leadership advisor. We go to him even though there's no class going on we just stay by him xD hehe. We can joke around a lot, and laugh alot. We have many inside jokes.
One of the expiriences that i will never forget that happened in quarter one was That one day when we went ward to watch movies, and go alamoana. our leadership field trip... that was a good time.
In the beggining of quarter one we had to teach the new comers the jobs, the expectations in leadership. It was very interesting to see them improve from the beginning of leadership to the end of quarter one. Us 4 returners and mr.ing did a good job. I imagine later on in the year... SUCCESSFUL LEADERS.
Quarter one has been good. I'm doing good on keeping up with my classes, grades. And much more. 2nd quarter i'm planning to do better and acheive up. Quarter one had some struggles, but life is a beautiful struggle. and after quarter one and all that expiriences it taught me many life skills.
what's sad about quarter one being done already and starting quarter 2 already? That means i only have 3 quarters left in leadership and moving on the high school. wow, that's pretty fast if you think about it.
but, you shouldn't count the days, you should make the days count and that's something you should think about. Right now it's fall break, and i can't wait on thursday. Well, it's a secret. hahaha, okay. Well, im glad quarter one's over. Let's all start freeesssshhh when we go back to school.

An Interesting Week...

Last week wasn't just an ordinary week, it was an emotional, interesting, and tough week. But, i learned a lot from last week, how you can dissapoint the people you care about. It was tough, last week started off with a problem and it just started growing and growing, and it was all mashed up, that it leaded to that morning on friday... Yes, we broke down, but you can tell that we really wanted to be there. We didn't know what will happen, what we will have to do, what will he say... it was just filled with wonders. On friday morning we had a talk, and disscussed it. It was hard in the morning to really tell what was going on, because that feeling of dissapointment isn't really a feeling you wanna feel, it feels like a broken heart. Espicially when it's from someone you really really care about. That friday morning me and my peer waited in silence, and that question he asked... "Are you guys ready to hear this?" "Make sure your ready, because this is maybe something you don't really wanna hear..." He said something simaliar and when he said that i could tell me and my parthner really wasn't ready, but i knew that me and her wanted it to get done. So, he began the disscusion. Me and my peer had chances to talk and get in the disscussion, and he asked us questions, he made us really understand what was going on, and our feelings were really showing. After the morning disscussion on friday was done, i had my first period there... During my period, i was glad to hear his voice improve from the morning. It made an impact on my whole day, and i felt a little weight come off my shoulders. During the rest of the period we played games, talked for a while, and did other things. Then the day went by... and then afterschool. While i was on the computer, we had another talk, this one was more calm, and this was the one when no one broke down so we can really tell what was happening... he asked us indiviually, and no one was watching us. it felt more opened, and we really shared out our feelings. We really got to talk more and see it in our different point of veiw. It really showed how we felt and this is when the problem came to a conclusion. After the talk the problem was done. got over it. no more. After that something else unexpectedly happened, a hug. A hug, is like a medicine that can cure a feeling. I really appreciated that hug. This was a learning expirience.
Now, this week, It's good and happy. and i want that to stay until 8th grade year is done, and so on. ♥

DANCE.

the welcome dance was on september 2nd, and it's such an unforgettable day. Since, i was working i was in charge of the darts place with rhea, the dance was such a good time. Even though we didn't dance because we were working, me, rhea, and shayna still got to dance in the beggining, but not with anyone. Lol, also me and rhea was dancing at our stations. Also,this year's dance made new moments. it's the first time there's a water slide, for the 2nd year i've been here. Also, darts, skee ball. But it was sad that the dance was only about an hour. ): What i liked about the dance this year was there were more things to do. I liked everything (=. I disliked nothing, it was a great expirience. You just had to be there!

My day so far is great, today seems to be going by so fast. Right now, it's advisory and i got period 6 next, and that's my leadership class. ^___^ Everytime i have period 6, it's always a great feeling, because i get to hangout with part of my leadership family. Also, we always do different things every class, such as games, just laughing having fun, working but still having fun. Lol, idk why I'm doing this, im just bored, and being productive. hahha. Well, today was a great day to start off the week. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. the bell rang. kbai, omg i got scared i thought this went back and i had to rewrite it. LOL. kay, so. I'm gonna go byeeee! ;D

Blue Planet ^____^.

Last week, a person named David came and talked to us about the blue planet. Blue planet is a group that try's to help the planet, such as not using as much gas, and more solar pannels. He showed us a powerpoint that  had many facts and it was really cool, and interesting to learn. I learned many facts about the planet, and all the resources we use, and need for life. After, the bell rang. Period6 got to stay amd we did a activity, it was fun because we got to do a activity that was educational. We had to spin this machine and how much energy you use, is how much you use for the lightbulb. That's why we should save more electricity and all these expensive stuff, and start making this planet green. The more energy we had to use, is how much the lightbulb we use that will light up. But, as the CFL lightbulb. You can only do it with one hand, and you can still have the same energy. THE BLUE PLANET.

Intumerals Day:1.

Day1: Intumerals was fun today, Today my job was camera, with the rest of my period, 6-2. Today was a good expirience to do because me and my period got closer while taking pictures and doing this activity, and also we got to learn to work together and cooperate. I am looking foward for tomorrow's intumerals, this whole week? or 2 weeks? we will be working with flag football and theyre will be different jobs that we will have to do. Like, referie (sometimes), clipboard, camera, and equitment job. All thes jobs we have to work with a parthner, or atleast cooperate with eachother to do it. Also, not only us, leadership... learn things during this activity, even the students who are participating to come and watch or play when its there turn to do intumerals during advisory, What i like about intemerals is we get to have fun and go out to the field and be active, and everyone in ilima inter. gets to participate. you also get challenges you get to challenge different classes or teams, also everytime the type of sport changes, like will start with flag football, then maybe 1 1/2 weeks later, we get to play soccer, then it just keeps changing. This is a good activity because the homeroom class can work together on winning and supporting eachother. What i dislike about this activity is nothing, It's a good activity to do for the year, But, if i haven't explained intumerals good, intumerals is a game where there is a sport and different homeroom and teams challenge eachother, and if you win, you can move up and challenge other people, also no ones a looser in this game, everyone wins! (: and theyre will be different sports, its a fin and active game to do. Well, i think im done here, i'll come back here tomorrow... to talk about day2 of intumerals. GOODNIGHT♥

Aug. 19, 2011.

Aug. 19, 2011. that day right there is unforgettable. (: yesterday was such a fun and exploring day! Lol. ^-^
went alamoana and watched movies at ward. We watched the movie "spy kids." it was a really good movie, and was funny to be watching it with the new 2011-2012 leadership family. Plus, what was more funny was when we were sniffing the 4d cards in the movie theateres. Haha. What was so exploring was walking to alamoana, it wasn't that long of a walk, it was a fun and quality time walk. We got to talk more and know eachother more by walking with eachother to alamoana. We had so many laughs and memories that will last long from yesterday. Alamoana was fun too, went shopping, eating. and more, hahaha. Yesterday was such an amazing expirience, that you had to be there to see how we all were feeling! lol. i got closer to a lot of people, and i hope we get more closer during the year. Can't wait for our next field trip! oh and our picture together♥ yay!

Period6.

I am glad that i got put in period6, i like how i can interact with all of them and cooperate. Plus, i like how we all came friends in period 6, this is something that i will never forget about. Something i learned while i am in period 6, is many and new things. We learn more from Mr.ing together, we learn skills and strategies.
Since pd6 is split into 2 groups. i work with only 2 people in my group. My group is, group 6-2. I got closer to 2 of my group mates because we have to work daily with eachother for the jobs, and leadership. and also tonight since it is open house. What i like about my group is we work together as a team, and never argue, we work it out. Also we are friends, we have inside jokes, we can laugh together, and have fun while doing the job. In my team i have tamera & king. And im excited to be working with them more next week when we have music together. I like how we get along and our relationship, also i like how we get work done, don't act disrespectful and etc. I appreciate that i have them to work with me. What i dislike about this group is nothing, we all know the school well and stuff, but im the only one in the group that was in leadership for 2years. Plus, i noticed everyone in period6 is 8th grade. I am the one use to all things and jobs, that why we can work together i teach them the jobs and directions and they listen carefully.
I am glad i have them (': <3 lol. Something i can improve about this group is maybe beign more comftorable with eachother, and sometimes not be shy. But it's okay its like our 3rd week of school anyway. There's always room for improvment. Leadership 2011-2012. period 6-2.

Flyer.

As you can see up there ^^^ That is my flyer. The purpose of this flyer is to advertise my blogger and site, but also to show people who are interested in these, that they can come and check it out, and to show our parents these website and see what we do in leadership daily, because we post on blogger and website daily.
What i learned during this expirience was if you part hardwork in everything you do, it is a good feeling acheivment. Not only that, we got to learn more about technology, and how we work these sights and how we can apply our learning into this expirience, etc. What i liked about this flyer was i got to be creative and work more with the computers, also, we got to apply our learning into something fun and creative, and espicially we get to display our work to other people and see what they think about it. What i dislike about this project was, nothing. I like how this all planned out. it was fun and cool to do. I like how my flyer turned out, and how it meets all the standerds and glo's. I hope later on in the year we can do more things like this, it's fun and educational, also we all had a good time doing it and interacting with eachother, by asking eachother if ours was good enough, then if i can print it out, haha. time to publish this post now :D yay!

This weekend.

This weekend was greaaat! (: i can't wait for this week, because guesswhat? it's open house and our leadership field trip, yay! im excited for this week. Lol. Well, right now im just coloring and chilling, i guess. haha.

Bio Cube.

This post is going to be about Bio Cube. If you look up there ^^^ Those are pictures of me and my bio cube when i had to present it in front of
the class. It was a good expirience to do, you got to learn from others when they got to share, like what we have in common, or how are we different in unique ways and much more. What i really liked about this project is we got to share it in front of our classmates also we got to add our own ideas and creations on the bio cube and the presentation. What i disliked about this project is, nothing. This was a fun and interesting project to do, and im glad we got to do this project, since this is my second year for leadership this is the second time i got to do it, and i enjoy doing it. I also did compare it from last year, i checked what was different from last year's cube, and there was nothing much. I am the same person♥. Well, next on this post, i would like to explain what is the Bio cube, the bio cube is a cube which had 6 sides that you have to do, and the 6 topics for each side was: Picture, background, obstacle, personality, quotation, significance. On each side of the bio cube you have to do one of the topics on each side and add your imagination to it. (: The cube is something that talks about who you are. What i learned from this cube project is how my 6 GLO's ties in with this, also what i learned while my classmates where presenting was we are all different, but we may have things in common. Also, in my opinion i think 2011-2012's leadership fam. got closer after this project. I hope we do another project maybe something like this, or something different. but, we are up for the challenge! ♥ What another amazing expirience.

Start Of School.

School has already started and im enjoying it. This year will be legit, well we have to live it up because it's our last year for being in intermediete, Im so excited for this year, Im excpecting new and fun things this year. It's been about 2 weeks that we have been in school and im doing good, being posotive everyday and enjoying life. During these pass 2 weeks we've been doing new routines such as our bell schedules, new ideas,as in our groups for leadership plus the yearbook. and much more new things, Im having an awesome start of school already, and i can't wait what will happen later on in the year. catch me on here! ♥ i'll blog later. Haaay Blogger ^_____^. Well anyway this post will be talking about my summer, SUMMER2011. This is my second post about summer, but i wanted to do another one :D. hehe, well wow, summer 2011 was preeeetty epic. Did a lot of new things, went hiking, went to the beach, Party's, hanged out with family, friends. and much more. This was such an unforgettable summer. SUMMER2011♥

SUMMER2011♥ IS GOOD! Last year will be an unforgettable year, and this upcoming year is going to be also. We have so much inside jokes and laughs together, also we had a good time joining together to become a leadership family. This year we have new comers that joined leadership and im glad they did, we got to meet more people and work together as a new leadership family. Well, today is july 16, 2011 and it's a saturday so no leadership workday. Leadership only has 4 students thats returning which is me, shayna, rhea & joshua, and mr.Ing. haha, anyway, The 4 of is going to be in leadership for 2 years and for me that is an acheiving goal because leadership has taught me many skills and qualities also, i have been in leadership for my full 2 years in intermidiate school, well is going to be since im an 8th grader after summer. Since the 4 us knows more of the jobs and what to do in leadership we have to teach the new comers, which is the 8th graders and 7th graders what to do, and how to do it. I hope they have fun during this year as much as i had fun last year ! This year is going to be fun(: well, catch me on more of my new posts.

Some worries i have about the enviorment is our area can be filled with trash if we don't use the trash cans properly thats why they are there, you shouldnt be lazy and just throw it on the floor it kills the earth, what i can do is put trash cans around our area and make sure people are using them or once in a while we can walk around our area and pick up trash with friends. We can do a little action, and every action can lead to something better and better.

A enviormental field trip i went on is with a club called Lei Ilima Girls club, we went around our area and picked up rubish. I had a good time because i got to do a good avtion while hanging out with my friends, me and my friends felt good about it. We made a posotive change.

On one of the animal shows on TV, they have had a series called ‘Great Migrations’ where they have been following many of the herds of African animals as well as others like caribou and birds. Have you noticed any animals in your area which are there at certain times of year but then they disappear? Do some research on  one of these animals or birds. Now tell your readers all about the animals you see around your area.
Yes sometimes i do see animals disappear around my area and the type of specie i am talking about is butterflys, they disappear somewhere around the year, I know some things about butterflys.. i know they migrate to a different place times in the year. Some animals i see around my area are mostly dogs, maybe some cats, birds, butterflys, and maybe more. ^__^

How do you think they might have felt moving to the other side of the world? Interview some of your older relatives and find out about their early lives. How is it different to your life as a child?
First of all no, my family never really always lived here, they migrated some where else and then they bought this house that i am living in right now. I haven't lived in a far away place before, i didn't even move before. How i think they felt moving to here and leaving there place is maybe kind of excited, because they get to travel and expirience more, but sad because theyre leaving a place they have been born on and theyre starting a kind of new life on another place. Life as a child back then was different. Many things had changed during the past years.

Do you ever have big family get-togethers?

YESIREEEE!, i remember that one time we went to the phillipines were some of my family was, once i got there we all gathered together hugging, and talking story then went to the house there and talked story, eat and more. Also here where i live when theres partys we have our family come and we eat and talk and much more.

What do you talk about?

We talk about hows life, sometimes if we dont really see the person that much; we talk about how theyre doing and much more, we talk about many other things. Sometimes the kids like us we just hangout and have a good time.

Can you remember a story told at one of these gatherings?

hmm, i think i do. They told me a story about my child hood and sometimes they would say its been a while.

Do you have any special celebrations in your country to remember those who have fought for your country?
Yes, of course we do. Those who fought for our life will always be remembered by our countrys hearts ♥
and the day is called memorail day, Veterans Day, and much much more. There are different types of celebrations different type of familys do for there love ones, and for the ones who gave out there love, and fought for our country. I will always give my prayers, my love, my proudness, my pride for them, and much more. i am thankful they helped us. you are respected ♥ rest in peace ♥

In this activity we have to discuss anything in class that related about earth day, and if we didn't do nothing we had to talk about what we could of done to help the earth. First of all we actually did something that related to earth day. We turned off our lights in our classroom but usually it was for more cooling. Anothering thing we did was not really use the computers, unless its for homework or for something we needed to do.

Something that i have learned outside of school is always have manners. How i learned that is from my parents and when i was younger. This lesson is important to me because being kind is a very good thing and manners make you more mature instead of acting very rude to people. You should have manners because it will teach you how to be nice and to do good stuff. This helped me in life because it made me who i am right now.

Easter is a time were you spend time with your family and enjoy the life you have gotten. WEEK #5. Activity 7 – Tell the story of the picture

From Bill Ferreirae – I sometime find a picture and tell students to use that picture to come up with a story. It can be about the picture, what happened before, what will happen next, etc. So, at the top of this post is the image I have chosen for you to start with. it was a cold, freezing evening. its was about sunset time, snowflakes just falling onto the lushish ground covered with snow already, it was the beginning of winter. As jolene was walking back home from the market around the corner to get her family some ingredients for tomorrow's gathering. She noticed a shadow follow her, while she looked behind she saw tracks that led to a tree just about a few steps behind her. as she followed them a cold misty breeze passed her giving her goosebumps. She took a fast glimpse and looked again, before she knew it.. she found her grandpa's horse, one tear falling on the right side of her face. and saying "oh, misty. im glad your home." " i wonder you been?!" but at least your back, safe and sound, lets go take you to our family. <3

WEEK #5. Activity 5 – Zoom out from an image

We tried this activity in the last challenge in September. Choose a picture, and have your readers zoom out, so to speak, by leaving comments. So maybe something simple, like a pillow, and the first commenter describes something bigger around the pillow (like a couch) and the next commenter would write about the room it was in, and the next could zoom out the window and do the house, etc.  If doing this activity, include the word ‘zoom’ in your title so I can find it easily. Remember to give attribution. Most important here is to read previous comments, so you can add to the story.

WEEK #5. Activity 3 – Colour a post.

In this post we have to write about our favorite color, and at least include 3 images with it. Also explain why i chose this particular images and include the attribution correctly.
My favorite color is.. PURPLE AND BLUE. ^-^ these are my favorite color because i like how the different shades of these colors look, and how it just stands out. I actually like every color in the world. <333 ;D

 i chose the first image because i thought it was elegent and really beautiful, i just love how the color and the flower matches its a perfect picture,
For the second picture it is come what the same as the first one, they are both flowers, but this picture has a different color. blue, it gives the picture a mood, and makes it more uniqe.
and the 3rd picture, this picture makes me feel happy. it brings out alot of colors, and represents how i like different colors. (:

Hello there, (: well today was a great day for me. right now im just checking by to see my blogger. Anyways i heard about the hail that was coming to the Hawaiian islands, just earlier it was raining and i hear alot of thunder and saw some lightning while i was on my way home like a few hours ago. Right now its pretty cold at my house. Well im going to go now. be safe. (:

Orientation ^-^

Aloha guys ^-^ Im Jolene, and this post is about orientation in Ilima. This event happened last week On March 31 and April 1 elementary schools came to Ilima such as kaimiloa, Holomua, Ewa Elem, Pohakea and iriquos and keonalua, They came because if the students are wondering about going to this intermediate they would have a better look at it, and know the school much more better. Also to give the basic information if they are coming to Ilima intermediete. You see that picture up there? ^^^^^ yeep. thats the leadership family, we made banners to show more of a visual picture and if they couldn't understand what the speakers was saying, the information would be on the poster with picture. We also showed that live broadcast for our school such as the tv. We also gave a tour around the school so they know were the basics of the school so they know when they get here (: we all gave an example of our dress code here in ilima, what to do and what not to do. This was a fun expirience with the 6th graders and it was also a greaaaat expirience for us leadership, :)

Where in the world would i like to find my way to is.. PARIS. (:
There so much things that are so intresting there, beautiful veiws. Shopping, looking at the eiffel tower, taking as much pictures as i can, and much much more.

How my community is different and or unique compared to other areas of my country is we are closer to the beaches, also we have a large Area for Ewa beach, and also we have schools close to eachother, and stores, but not really big big malls.

Miss W, would get by English, but if you want to interact different you can.

Sometimes people talk pigeon, but not all the time. for example maybe "Aloha".

Why should regular users of the internet be using tags and categories whenever they leave a footprint on the web?
   They should be using tags and categories whenever they leave a footprint on the web because so they can track it down, and search it up to see the information that was given so you can trace back to it if you need it.
Where are users asked to use tags?
  Users are asked to use tags in maybe important posts and information, or maybe sometimes when you are refering to something. Or seeing the main ideas in writtings.
What is geotagging?
With geotagging, your JPEG photos are labeled, or “tagged”, to show where they were taken. Also View photos on a map. Search photos by location.
Why did you decide on those categories for your blog?
I picked these categories because it connects to me.

Why are categories and tags important when writing your posts?
I think categories and tags are important when writting posts because Categories are like the chapter headings in books, and thats important when writting a post, its like a title leading the whole post. while tags are like the index words at the back of a book. for refrences, and to point out the main ideas of the whole chapter.
Where else do you find tags used in technology?
Where else i find tags in technology is, for example Blogger we had to make a Link and when you click it, it is splited and more organized for your blogger website. Also we find it in our technology such as our phones, we have an inbox to see messages and its like a reference if we never see it in the beginning.

I will be taking part in Earth Hour – this is happening on Saturday, March 26. How i can read a blog that is a different language is use a translator, there is translater websites like dictionary.com. For example the teacher that blogs  Serbia i can use the translater to see what she's saying and respond with that same language.
A visitor from Colombia has come across your blog and wants to read it in their mother tongue, how will they translate it? use a translator.

Qualities That Every Leader Should Have.

In today's assigment we had to make a 1 slide about leadership skills. First of all we had to pick a leader of Hawaii not in the modern days. i chose King David Kalakaua. After we were done choosing we had to learn about the ruler, such as facts and skills they had. I found that he was Smart, Happy, Friendly, Cooperative. All those skills are Qualities that every leader should have, but there are much more Qualities every leader should have such as being responible, Caring, strong, etc. These traits help to become a leader. Every leader should be Cooperative so work can get done faster and have a good bond. Then we had to compare our self to that ruler. For example he was happy because he was named after a hula compettition, the nick name he got was "Merrie Monarchy". How i compare myself to that is... every day i am happy so i can have confidience in everything that i do.

This is for the challenge week #1 *Why did i choose this theme?*
My theme for my blog is cherry blossoms. I chose this theme because it relates to me, For example i am calm, i am unique, and also i am creative.  Another reason i chose cherry blossoms is because i like cherry blossoms and because i want to see a cherry blossom tree in real life. This theme wasn't that difficult to choose beacause i wanted to have a scenery as my background, and the picture has a sky and cherry blossoms covering it.
